Overall Purpose
The job of After School Program Aide is done for the purpose/s of providing after school care to include supervision of students and assisting with planning and conducting student activities.

Essential Functions
Supports instruction and supervision for assigned students.
Assists in screening and selecting material and equipment for program use.
Assists in maintaining assigned records.
Attends After School Program staff meetings.
Models appropriate behavior.
Monitor’s for student safety by recognizing potentially dangerous situations.
Maintains a pleasant and professional attitude with staff, students, and parents.
Employs a variety of behavior management techniques.
Respects the cultures and values of families in the program.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
