Purpose & Job Related Requirements REPORTS TO: Program Specialist FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt CLASSIFICATION: Part Time No Benefits, Serves at the discretion of the Department Director.
PAY GRADE: 114 SAFETY SENSITIVE: No Purpose The primary purpose of this job is to assist with the coordination of various front of house, stage and backstage technical production details related to the operation, maintenance, and public use of the Morton Theatre, a multi-discipline performing arts center and/or Quinn hall, a black-box theatre.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, repairing and/or maintaining theatrical equipment and technical systems, operating lighting and sound systems, and assisting with daily operations of the facility.
Persons in this position are also responsible for assisting with coordination of all incoming and in-house events and activities and oversight of the stage crews, equipment and vendors operating in their assigned theatre or performance space and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Job Related Requirements Work Schedule: Nights and weekends during productions.
Days during summer camps.
May be required to work on religious holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must work cooperatively with others.
When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Vocational or technical diploma or equivalent in a related discipline with two years of experience operating theatrical equipment and technical systems and/or general/mechanical repair, maintenance work, or related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be certified in First Aid/CPR or the ability to attain within 6 months of employment.
Must possess a valid Forklift license or the ability to attain within 6 months of employment.
Experience or open to training in multiple areas of production management and/or stagecraft: backstage and front-of-house exposure, including box office ticket sales, and house management preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this job.
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Provides general technical support for Morton Theatre, Athens Creative Theatre and Arts Division (Athens Creative Theatre, East Athens Educational Dance Center, Lyndon House Arts Center, and Morton Theatre)-sponsored events as directed.
Assists with rehearsals, load-ins, performances and load-outs of internal and rental productions and events, representing the facilities' interests.
Assists with the development and implementation of daily operations of the theatrical equipment and technical systems; systematically checks and verifies that all systems are functioning properly.
Assists with training, and scheduling assigned seasonal staff, instructors, volunteers, and contract labor working in the technical areas at the Morton and/or Quinn Hall.
Assists with the use of equipment to ensure proper handling and enforces safety rules as well as adherence to house rules.
Assists with technical work for events for Department-sponsored programs.
Performs various skilled functions and general building maintenance.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment and requisitions supplies for activities and events.
Operates various machinery, equipment and tools associated with general maintenance projects; performs general and preventive maintenance as needed, operates lighting and sound system.
Installs, repairs, and replaces specialized fixtures/hardware, light fixtures, etc.
Tests machinery, equipment, systems, etc.
, for proper operations.
Prepares and/or receives various forms, reports, and other documents; processes and forwards as appropriate.
Monitors use of the facility by outside groups, renters.
Performs other related duties as required.
When assigned to the Athens Creative Theatre: Provides theatrical services related to programming, productions, and special events in a recognized skill set in production, educational, and performance theatre, including but not limited to set construction/painting, scenic artistry, stage management, lighting, sound, design, choreography, audio/visual, theatre camp/class instruction, rigging, or other form of stagecraft.
Coordinates set or other production designs with director/Program Specialist for each production.
Estimates construction and/or class material needs and costs.
Constructs and/or assists in construction/painting of specialty set pieces for each production.
Maintains/organizes/cleans and keeps track of prop inventory and building materials contained in Quinn Hall and prop shop.
Maintains, organizes and updates all theatre equipment inventory including construction tools, theatrical lighting, sound and safety equipment, props, and musical instruments.
Notifies Program Specialist of any damages and/or repairs required for theatre property/space and/or prop house.
Assists Morton Technical Theatre Program Specialist as directed.

Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion.
Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of heavy work.

MOTOR COORDINATION: Requires the ability to coordinate hands, fingers, and eyes accurately in using equipment.
Requires the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, manipulate equipment/tools and objects as the position necessitates.
MANUAL DEXTERITY: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as automated equipment, mechanic tools, hand tools, testing equipment, etc.
Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities.
Must have moderate levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
COLOR DISCRIMINATION: Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Must be adaptable to performing under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency.
