*Deputy Registrar* *Department: Elections* *FLSA Status: Non-Exempt* *JOB SUMMARY:* Perform and/or assist in all necessary duties in maintaining the voter list in accordance with Georgia Elections Code.
The Essential function of this position within the organization is to assist in day-to-day voter registration tasks such as, but not limited to, registration of voters, voter registration changes, and maintenance of an accurate voter list.
To provide administrative support to the Elections Supervisor.
To assist in the absentee ballot application and issuing process, as well as any other duties deemed necessary for the execution of the election deemed necessary by the Elections Supervisor.
All duties are subject to change in accordance with any alteration made to Election code or deemed necessary by the Secretary of State.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Other duties may be required and assigned, and are not limited to the following: * Customer service in terms of Elections and Voter Registration * Carry out day-to-day operations of the Elections office in accordance to Elections Supervisor and Secretary of State Direction.
* Work in GARViS to maintain an up-to-date voters list in accordance to the Georgia Election Code, includes street maintenance and checking for the accuracy of precinct and district combinations.
* Assists with Preparation of all forms, papers, and supplies used to conduct primary, municipal, and general elections.
* Assists with voter registration drives.
* Assists with Logic and Accuracy testing on ballot marking devices, poll pads, scanners, printers, and tabulators, and ballot proofing.
* Provides phone support to polling places staff and members of the community on Election Day.
* Assist in all tasks assigned by the Elections Supervisor in terms of Advanced Voting.
* Obtain and Maintain Georgia Registrar Official Certificate.
* Initiates any action necessary to correct deviations and violations in terms of voter registration and Election Day Conduct.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable elections guidelines, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
* Maintain office security and voter privacy.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK*: * Be proficient in Microsoft Office Software * Ability to plan, organize, and execute election events.
* Excellent customer service skills * Discern necessary complex information and laws.
* Be flexible with scheduling in terms of election event needs.
* Self-motivated * Possess the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
* Skilled in written and verbal communications.
* Attention to detail.
* 21 years of age * Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Two years’ experience in a related field.
* Experience in Government work.
* Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
* Applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
* Knowledgeable of Georgia Elections Code as well as Elections Policy *SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT POSITION*: This position reports directly to the Elections Supervisor.
All supervisory rolls are assigned, depending on need, by the Elections Supervisor.
This roll will assist in the supervision of Temporary employees (poll workers, interns, etc.
).
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* Work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work also requires climbing, crouching, feelings, fingering, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, and visual acuity.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT*: Work is typically performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands.
