edu) is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA-exempt position for its Hall, Forsyth, and Barrow campus locations.

POSITION: ADJUNCT WEBSITE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT INSTRUCTOR – Different Campus Locations Available REPORTS TO: Dean of Advanced Technology and Engineering SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, will prepare and teach classes in the Web Site Design program; evaluate student progress toward goals; and complete class administrative duties, such as attendance reporting; recording of graded assignments in a timely manner; and final grade submission by required deadline.
· Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.
Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives; · Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught; · Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; · Administers and grades class examinations; · Maintains records of student grades; · Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed; · Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas; · Meets ALL required deadlines; · Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field with at least 18 semester hours of computer web design course work.
· Three (3) years of in-field work experience; · Must be able to teach content for one or more of the following courses: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and WordPress content management system.
· Strong understanding of design principles, usability, accessibility, and responsive web design techniques.
· Experience with the following: web design, user experience design, user interface design, front-end web development, graphic design, typography, Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe XD) and Database Connectivity for web applications.
COMPETENCIES: Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials Knowledge of vocational area of assignment Skill in presenting subject matter Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners Effective oral and written communication skills Knowledge of student information systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum and competencies): · Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field with at least 18 semester hours of computer web design course work at the graduate level.
· Prior teaching experience in higher education This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations; and day and evening classes available.
NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
