As the Plant Engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will provide technical support for post molding operations and special projects in the Silgan Closures Athens, GA manufacturing facility.

What you’ll do: Hands on problem-solving, repairing, and continuous improvement of the overall post molding operations Establishing optimum post molding processes and process controls through machine and process capability studies Assuming ownership and accountability for role in resolving customer concerns, improving productivity and reducing scrap Generating standard operating procedures Partnership with technicians and operators while providing training, guidance and hands on assistance for sustaining stable processes Initiate and carry out cost savings and lean manufacturing (PPS & Lean Six Sigma) initiatives Assist in equipment specification, selection, installation and debugging Participates in continuous improvement activities Identify and manage all capital projects You’ll love it here if you: Want to be part of a larger vison to alleviate world hunger Like to maintain a safe work environment Like to be an essential part of resolving customer concerns What you’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree with heavy concentration in automated equipment / systems At least two years hands on experience in secondary production machinery in high-speed (automation) electro / mechanical troubleshooting and repairs In-depth hands-on experience with sensors, vision systems, PLCs and automated systems Computer proficiency (CAD, MS office, etc.
